Legend speaks that the valley of Langtang was discovered by a Lama (Buddhist Monk) while he was looking for his runaway yak. However, after this incident the monk named the valley as Langtang where Lang means ‘yak’ and tang means ‘follow’. Established in 1976 as the first Himalayan National Park, Langtang lies directly to the north of Kathmandu. It opens before us with extravagant landscape, soaring mountains and deep gorges. The Langtang Heritage Trek takes you to the exquisiteness of the mountainous region and its people, popularly known as the Tamangs. Regardless of being reasonably less visited area, trekking here is pleasing, with untouched valleys and abundant flora and fauna. Trekking through this region is beyond belief and considered one of the most beautiful valley. In reality Langtang Heritage trek is ‘a journey of a lifetime’.

Besides spring and autumn season in Nepal, Langtang Heritage trek is feasible even during winter (December till February) however; despite the less visitors and the probability of crystal clear views the chill factor can get to extreme. Closure of few lodges and not too many food menu selections can be the circumstances. In case you ran out of the delivered water you can always buy boiled and filtered water from the tea houses along the way at minimal charges.
Being slow is not a matter of concern with Nepal Pyramids as typically your group leader sets up a ground for everyone in the group to stay together and walk collectively as a team. However, depending on the situation your group leader assigns job for the assistant guides to cater the separated group whereas for himself staying at the back with the slow walking people. But in no way people lose their charm of their trekking freedom, everyone reserves the right to take his/her time and maintain their own pace.
From everyday trekking injuries like sprained ankles to life-threatening conditions and natural disasters, it’s important that you have the right travel insurance for your adventure in Nepal. We recommend having an all-inclusive travel insurance policy covering all the aspects of your adventure that includes trip delays, cancellation, loss of property, sickness, or air evacuation. Though your leaders are highly trained to cope with any emergency situation yet sometimes even after the best of our precautions things happens.
The charging facility is possible in all the settlements in Langtang. However, it is always wise to carry some extra batteries or the fully charged power bank batteries for emergency and most significantly your batteries run out pretty quick in the cold.
